April 4, I had the opportunity to attend the Lehigh Valley Watershed Conference and Shad Symposium. The event was well attended, and the seminars were lead by a wide array of very knowledgeable professionals. The worst part was having to choose between 3 equally interesting topics at each of the 4 sessions which were offered. I left with a wealth of information and was reinvigorated upon hearing about some of the great work being done by a variety of groups around the Valley. I am already looking forward to the next conference.
I was also approached by the Wildlands Conservancy regarding the opportunity to apply for a grant to address some of the habitat issues which were identified in the Little Lehigh assessment. It was great evidence that these assessment projects can turn into important, substantive, benefits for the stream in the future. We are very fortunate to have so many local coldwater fishing opportunities, but your support is needed to ensure that these streams remain healthy ecosystems which can support a variety of macroinvertebrates and wild trout. Please join us as we continue to move forward in making some real differences to our streams. Stacy Reed President Little Lehigh TU |

It is with great sadness, that I learned this evening of the passing of Jeff Michener, Little Lehigh TU board member. Certainly his death will be a significant loss to his family, friends, community, and Trout Unlimited. Jeff was driven to serve his community and support his children through scouting, sports, and other activities. He was always among the first to offer a hand to volunteer or assist whenever needed. His generous nature, dedication and steadfast reliability will be missed by many. Our sincere condolences to his family. Stacy Reed President Little Lehigh TU Dec. 10, 2007 |
